  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 (15-ounce) can chopped stewed tomatoes
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 (15-ounce) can pinto beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan over medium heat, cook the ground beef with minced garlic and chopped onion for about 10 minutes until the meat is browned. Drain excess liquid.
  2. Add chopped stewed tomatoes, beef broth, chili powder, ground cumin, dried oregano, and cayenne pepper to the meat mixture. Stir well to combine.
  3. Lower the heat and cover the saucepan, allowing the chili to simmer for 1 hour while stirring occasionally.
  4. Stir in rinsed pinto beans and salt; let cook for an additional 15 minutes before serving.
